The NSW Government has put in place a set of planning policies that regulate the short-term rental accommodation industry in order to benefit hosts, guests and communities alike.
From Nov 1st 2021, all short term holiday rentals will be required to register as hosts on the Short-Term Rental Accommodation Register. Failure to do so will mean hosts and managing agents will be unable to advertise on booking platforms or host guests in short term rental accommodation. The property registration number will then need to be advertised on the booking portal listings.
Of course there is a lot to get your head around so we have done the hard work for you and streamlined the registration process for you. Before property owners or managing agents can register properties on the NSW planning portal they will need to complete three core requirements.

Provide an Emergency Information Book
To get your property registered on the NSW planning portal you have two options
You can look to meet the requirements and register your property on the NSW Planning portal providing us with your registration number on completion.

We can arrange all the necessary requirements to be met and register your property on your behalf at a charge of $…. in addition to the costs associated with meeting the fire safety standards averaging at around $1000 depending on type and size of property. If you have a locked garage not accessible to guests this will increase the cost considerably as you will require a heat sensor alarm to be interconnected with specific smoke alarms throughout the property.
